Hi, my name is Brooke Schwartz and I am the news editor as well as a sophomore journalism major with a minor in French and political science. I am originally from Menomonie, Wisconsin where I left four younger brothers whom I love dearly. I am excited to cover more of the campus this year and to make a difference with my reporting.

Jeffrey Stowell, a psychology professor as well and the vice chair of Faculty Senate, drew out a plan to potentially change the make up off the Council on Academic Affairs during its meeting on Thursday. The plan would not change the number of faculty members on the council, it would only change a couple of their titles.

Geography professor Barry Kronenfeld is a member of the Council for Academic Affairs. The council approved lowering two course numbers for the computer and information technology department, and it also looked at an accelerated law degree program.

Scott Walus, a communication studies professor, presented four course revisions as well as a new minor to the Council on Academic Affairs Thursday afternoon in Booth Library. Walus said the first radio course at Eastern started in 1957 and was called “Radio Speaking to Prevent Mic Fright.”
