Panthers of the Week: Alex Siatos, Briana Gonzalez

The male Panther of the Week is going to Alex Siatos from the golf team.

The freshman from Godfrey recorded a fifth place finish at the Western Illinois Intercollegiate tournament.

Siatos tied for fifth place with a final 54-hole total of 219, shooting rounds of 75, 74 and 70 on the Par 71 course.

The last time a men’s golfer from Eastern recorded a top five finish in 36 holes was in 2020.

The last time a men’s golfer from Eastern recorded a top five finish in 54 holes was in 2017.

The female Panther of the Week is going to Briana Gonzalez from the softball team.

The senior infielder from Huntington Beach, California, recorded her first home run of the season against Tennessee Tech on Friday.

Gonzalez’s home run happened in the fifth inning, hitting the ball to the right center, giving Eastern the early 4-0 lead.

This run allowed Alisha Fredrick, Kendall Grover and Abbey Crain to score.

The Panthers defeated the Golden Eagles 10-2.
