Eastern Illinois University softball junior infielder Kendall Grover gets ready in the hitter’s box for the pitch at Williams Field during Eastern’s first game against Southeast Missouri State as Eastern split the games as Eastern lost the first game 3-0 and won the second 8-5 on Friday.
The female Panther of the Week is going to Kendall Grover from the softball team.
The junior infielder from Arthur recorded her eighth home run of the season against Southeast Missouri State Friday evening at Williams Field.
Grover’s home run happened in the bottom of the fourth inning, giving the Panthers a 8-4 lead over the Redhawks.
Eastern spilt games with Southeast Missouri State on Friday during the doubleheader.
With the win, the Panthers now have an overall record of 16-16 and a conference record of 8-3.

The male Panther of the Week is going to Tyler Castro from the baseball team.
The senior utility player from Huntley recorded a three-run home run to help the Panthers get a 14-10 win over the Morehead State Eagles Saturday afternoon.
Castro’s three-run home run happened in the top of the tenth inning, allowing Chris Worcester and Ethan Rossi to score, giving the team a 13-10 lead.
Eastern spilt games with Morehead State on Saturday during the doubleheader.
With the win, the Panthers now have an overall record of 11-14 and a conference record of 4-2.
