Panthers of the Week: NaKyel Shelton, McKenzie Oslanzi

Senior guard NaKyel Shelton scored 18 points against Southern Indiana and 25 points against Morehead State this week. Eastern won both of their games on Thursday and Saturday. (File)

The male Panther of the Week is going to NaKyel Shelton from the basketball team.

The senior guard from Chicago recorded 18 points in the Panthers’ 63-54 win over the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles Thursday evening. Shelton also recorded five rebounds, three steals and one assist.

Shelton also scored 25 points in the Panthers’ 67-62 win over the Morehead State Eagles Saturday afternoon. Shelton also recorded three rebounds, two steals and one assist.

The female Panther of the Week is going to be McKenzie Oslanzi from the softball team.

The sophomore pitcher from Marseilles recorded a shutout against Houston Christian University during the ULM Warhawk Invitational on Sunday.

In Eastern’s 9-0 win, Oslanzi recorded four strikeouts within five innings pitched.
