The male Panther of the Week is going to Tre’Jon Lewis from the football team.
The redshirt senior defensive lineman from Manor, Texas blocked a field goal against Northwestern Illinois University Saturday evening.
In the second quarter of the game, Northwestern’s kicker Jack Olsen was set to kick a 41-yard field goal, but Lewis raised his left arm to block the field goal to help the Panthers keep the game close within the first half.
Eastern lost to Northwestern 31-7 in Evanston.
The female Panther of the Week is going to Ashlyn Hoover from the women’s soccer team.
The redshirt sophomore goalkeeper from West Lafayette, Indiana recorded six saves against Indiana State.
Eastern tied 0-0 with Indiana State in Terre Haute, Indiana on Thursday night.
