A man was found in Lake Charleston at approximately 11 a.m. according to a Charleston Police Department released a press release.
Lincoln Fire Dive Team was able to quickly secure the person so that Charleston Ambulance personnel could transfer them to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Charleston Police were able to determine that no crime occurred, though an inquiry into the incident is still underway.
The Charleston Police, Coles County Sheriff’s Office, Charleston Ambulance, and Lincoln Fire Protection District Dive Team responded to the call.
