With a pair of 3-0 sweeps against Little Rock last weekend the Panthers improved their overall record to 22-3 and have a 12-2 record in the Ohio Valley Conference play. They are currently tied with SEMO for first place.
After last weekend’s victory the Panthers will look to continue that momentum and their unbeaten road record into their last road trip of the season as they will travel to Edwardsville to take on Southern Illinois.
The Panthers are number one in the OVC in eight statistical categories: points, hitting percentage, assists per set, opponent assists per set, opponent kills per set, opponent blocks per set, service aces, and opponent digs per set.
They are also fifth in the country in aces per set, 25th in assists, 15th in hitting percentage, and 43rd in kills per set.
The first of the two games will take place on Friday at 6 pm and the second game is set for 2 pm on Saturday afternoon.
Senior outside hitter Giovanna Larregui Lopez leads OVC in points and total kills. She is seventh in the nation in service aces, 28th in points per set and 45th in total kills.
Graduate student Outside Hitter Natalie Mitchem is second in the OVC in hitting percentage, third in kills and fifth in points.
Sophomore setter Cataline Rochiax is 10th in the nation in assists per set and 1st in the OVC. She has 1000 total assists on the year.
Senior libero Christian Martinez Mundo is ninth in the nation in digs per set and second in the OVC. She leads the Panthers with 511 digs this season.
Freshman middle blocker Julia Stanev leads OVC and the Panthers in blocks.
