At Tuesday’s University Board meeting, lots was discussed about this school year’s event planning.
Some events happing this week, including, but not limited to the paint and sip on Sept. 6.
On Sept. 14 karaoke night will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. where attendees can sing their favorite songs and win prizes. People can still guess songs if they are not interested in singing, they will still get a chance to win prizes.
Forms for signing up are on Eastern’s website and all are welcome.
Later in the week is WOW Ready, Set, GLOW walk located at Panther trays on Sept. 14 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Panthers trail will be lit up its bright glow in the dark solar lights, enjoy a glowing night full of fun.
There will be water and snacks along with a prize drawing towards the end of the night for all who participate.
Wellness café-color madness will take place on Sept. 27 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30p.m which will be full of coloring pages and activity,
Family weekend will start Sept. 22 and one of the events for families will be BINGO night and mesmerizing magic. At the end of the weekend, Eastern’s football team will go against McNeese State on Sept. 23 at 3 p.m.
Some things that are not yet planned but in the works include Latin heritage month where they are trying to get a live mariachi band to come perform and entertain while students can learn about the heritage.
The university board is also in contact with the ISA club (Indian student association) to discuss having an India movie night to have fun while learning about the culture.
For all the LGBTQ community members, they will be bringing back the rainbow door for the national coming out day for students to sign and take photos. All are welcome for more information contact the LGBTQ community/club.
