When Spring Break rolls around, it means all spring sports are in the swing of things. Here are some of Eastern’s athletics to watch and keep track of over the break:

Baseball

EIU’s 6-4 baseball team will begin its busy break on the road at Arkansas State. They will play a series over the weekend from March 10-13. They will play Arkansas State at 5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday, and 3 p.m. Monday. The team will then travel over to Pine Bluff, Ark., to take on Arkansas – Pine Bluff in a two-game series as they will play March 14 & 15 both at 3 p.m. They will travel back to Illinois to close out the break for a three-game series at Illinois State where they will play March 17 at 5 p.m., March 18 at 3 p.m., and March 19 at 1 p.m.

Softball

EIU’s 10-9 softball team also has a busy break as they hit the road on a tour of Tennessee for Spring Break. They will travel to Martin, Tenn., for a three-game series with OVC opponent UT Martin where they will play a doubleheader on March 10 with games at 1 and 3:30 p.m. They will then play them again on March 11 at 12 p.m. The Panthers will travel over to Nashville for a Wednesday matchup at Lipscomb at 2:30 p.m. on March 15. They will then finish up the break in Johnson City where they will play East Tennessee at 5 p.m. on March 17 and then finish up the break up with a doubleheader on March 18 as they play at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Men’s Tennis

EIU’s 4-5 men’s tennis team has a couple of matches set up as they begin OVC play over Spring Break. First they will close out non-conference play at Chicago State where they will face the Cougars at 11 a.m. on March 10. The following weekend they will open up OVC play at home where they will host Southern Indiana at Darling Courts at 11 a.m. on March 18 and then Tennessee Tech on March 19 at 12 p.m.

Women’s Tennis

EIU’s 7-7 women’s tennis team has a few road matches on Spring Break before they begin OVC play. They will travel to Chicago to take on Chicago State on March 10 at 2:30 p.m. They will then travel down to Orlando, Fla., to take on Lehigh at 5 p.m. on March 13. They open OVC play at home on March 18 as they host Southern Indiana at Darling Courts at 3 p.m.
