Fraternity to celebrate Founders Week with events

The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. were founded on Dec. 4, 1906, and in honor of that, they will be hosting events all week to celebrate its Founders Week.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., will be hosting their Alpha Week from Monday to Saturday.
On Wednesday, they will be hosting their “Pharaoh’s Wellness: Mental Health Pop Up Table.”
Students have the opportunity to destress with the Alphas. They can play with slime and other calming objects before finals week.
This will take place at the Bridge Lounge at the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union at 1 p.m.
On Thursday, they will be hosting “Gold Table Talk.” The Alphas will be talking about the antisemitic controversies regarding Kyrie Irving and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
This will be held in Andrew’s Hall basement at 7 p.m.
Friday there will be a spades card tournament in Lawson Hall basement at 7 p.m.
Finally, on Saturday, they will be hosting a 3 v. 3 basketball tournament in the McAfee Gym at noon. Food will be served at the event including nachos.
Monday, they hosted their “Rich Flex: The Grind and Hustle of a Small Business Owner” event. This was an informational event giving students an insight on how to be a young entrepreneur.
They talked about the 10 things that they will need to know when starting a business, marketing strategies and a question-and-answer segment with a business professional.
The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Greenup Room in the MLK Jr. Union and food was provided.
Tuesday was the “Alphademics” event where they hosted a study table event. Students had the chance to eat and study with the Alphas.
The event took place in the 24-hour lounge in the MLK Jr. Union at 7 p.m.
