NAACP to have costume karaoke night on Friday

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, NAACP, is celebrating the progress that has been made amongst African American countries throughout this week at Eastern.
To celebrate starting Monday, they are hosting their percentage night at Dirty’s Bar and Grill from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The NAACP is partnering with Dirty’s to fundraise money for their image awards that is expected to be held in February.
On Tuesday, they are hosting a bake sale near the Doudna Fine Arts Center from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.
They will be selling cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, chocolate covered pretzels and rice krispie’s.
On Wednesday, NAACP is hosting an event to inform students on the importance of voting.
The event will be held in the Charleston/Mattoon Room in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union at 6 p.m. With the upcoming state and county elections, the NAACP is encouraging students to go and vote.
There will be a guest speaker, and refreshments will be served.
On Thursday, the NAACP will have a movie showing of “Get Out.”
The showing will be held in the Charleston/Mattoon Room in the MLK Jr Union at 6 p.m. Popcorn and other refreshments will be served.
On Friday, they will be hosting a “Calling All the Monsters!” costume karaoke night at 7 p.m. The event will be held at 7th St. Underground which is in the MLK Jr Union Basement.
