Francis Akosah Akwaboa, a graduate student studying art, works on a metal sculpture piece about the extinction of indigenous species Thursday night Doudna Fine Arts Center. Akosah Akwaboa chose the elephant because it is the largest endangered species on earth and they take 22 months to reproduce. Akosah Akwaboa said that elephants have a huge impact on the ecosystem and that if something isn’t done now to prevent their extinction it would be “determental to the ecosystem” and “almost past the point of no return.”
