Panthers fall 26-21 in season opener against Indiana State

The Eastern football team came up short Saturday afternoon with a score of 26-21 in Terre Haute for the season opener against Indiana State.

Early in the fourth quarter Eastern quarterback Otto Kuhns threw an interception and was returned for a 75-yard touchdown to put the Sycamores up 24-14.

Eastern scored another touchdown, cutting the lead to three late in the fourth quarter.

The Panthers then got the ball back with 34 seconds left but a late safety ended the Panther’s chances at tying or winning the game.

Quarterback Otto Kuhns was 14-of-29 with 253 yards and 2 interceptions and running back Harrison Bey-Buie had 11 carries for 57 with 1 touchdown.
