Campus safety guidelines updated as Illinois enters Phase 5
June 16, 2021
University president David Glassman sent an email June 15 with updates to Eastern’s COVID safety guidelines.
As of June 16, fully vaccinated individuals will no longer be required to wear masks or socially distance anywhere on campus except classrooms, the Student Health Center, the COVID testing area in the Student Recreation Center, and the Panther Shuttle.
People who aren’t vaccinated will still be required to wear masks and social distance inside all university buildings except while eating or while alone in a private office.
Glassman clarifies in the email that supervisors are allowed to inquire about the vaccination status of their staff but should not ask any other personal medical questions.
