We will continue to bring you sports stories, here is how
March 24, 2020
If you were wondering, yes The Daily Eastern News sports section is going to continue bringing you all sports stories while everything is going online at Eastern.
We will continue bringing you all daily content, whether it be through feature stories, columns or sports news stories, if anything should pop up.
This week, we plan to bring one story a day, and next week, once classes start back up online, we will start bringing more stories daily.
Since there are no live sporting events for the foreseeable future, our job is a little tougher of finding stories and bringing content on a daily basis.
As aforementioned, we will still be able to bring you feature stories on athletes or coaches at Eastern, and we will be looking at angles for columns on the sports that were able to play out their seasons this year, such as football, basketball and soccer. Even though those sports are done, and some have not played for a while, there are always things to point out or remember about their seasons.
This is new territory for all of us; for us reporters, we are used to conducting interviews in-person for a good portion of our content, but with COVID-19 guidelines regarding social distancing, we will have to rely on phone calls, emails or text messages for information and quotes.
With that said, we ask that, athletes and coaches, if we reach out to you for a story, please get back to us as quickly as you can. We understand everyone is still busy and adjusting to a new lifestyle, but however you can help us will help us bring our audience content and information.
To our audience, if you have questions about Eastern sports or athletes or coaches or whatever, contact us through our emails or reach out to us on Twitter and we can address those questions in stories.
We were looking forward to covering live events for the remainder of the semester, but we are willing and ready to make do with what we have and what we can do.
Understand that the content we are about to bring your way is a little different, but we are going to do our best to bring fresh angles and stories to you all.
