Today is March 4, 2020. Here are the five things happening on campus you need to know today.
1. City Council approves marijuana tax
The Charleston City Council approved a tax on all marijuana sales in Coles County at its meeting Tuesday night. The tax is not to exceed three percent and comes even though Charleston has a moratorium on marijuana dispensaries in the city until May 31. 2. Panthers win OVC honors
Members of both the Eastern men’s and women’s basketball teams were named to All-Conference teams on Tuesday. Josiah Wallace was an All-OVC first team selection on the men’s side. Karle Pace and Lariah Washington were first team selections on the women’s side.

3. Student Senate to discuss safety resolution
Eastern’s Senate Senate will discuss the prospects of a student safety resolution at its meeting Wednesday night.
