1. Glassman gets new contract
The Board of Trustees voted to give Eastern President David Glassman a new two-year contract extension that includes a 10 percent raise at its meeting Friday. 2. Eastern getting $11 million for new building
Eastern will be receiving $11.8 million in funds released by the state of Illinois for its new science building. The $11.8 million is just a small chunk of the $119 million total Eastern is slated to receive over the next six years.
3. Eastern back to .500 in OVC play
The Eastern men’s basketball team improved to 4-4 in OVC play after beating Southeast Missouri in Lantz Arena on Saturday. Eastern narrowly escaped with a 61-59 victory, and perhaps only won thanks to a wild referee blunder at the end of the game. 4. Lawson wins Alpha Phi Alpha ‘Miss Black and Gold’ pageant

5. Men’s tennis team suffers first loss of season
