Toys and wheelchairs are scattered around on the second and third floors at Ashmore Estates. Sue Remmers, the caretaker and tour guide at Ashmore Estates, said sometimes during the day she'll have a feeling that she should get out, as if she isn't wanted in the building, so she'll go outside for a bit to do chores. After a bit, she said, the building feels normal again.
