Game night slated for Tuesday

Staff Report

The homecoming committee of Eastern’s University Board will host “Who’s Got Game?” in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The game night event is open and free to students, their families and the community, said Mary Fleming, chair for campus and community relations and senior applied engineering technology major.

The event is meant to be a family-style game night appropriate for all audiences.

It will feature life-size, jumbo games as well as regular board games and card games for a wide variety of age groups. A face painter will also attend the game night.

Winners will be awarded with raffle tickets that can be exchanged for prizes when they are finished playing the games, Fleming said.

There will also be other giveaways throughout the night.

Snacks and drinks will be provided by the University Board.

Paige Philpott, homecoming committee co-chair and speech pathology senior, said several Greek organizations, RSOs and residence halls will help to organize the event.

Similar events have been held before, but not in the last two years.

“We brought it back to include more of Charleston instead of just our students,” Philpott said.

The “Who’s Got Game” night fits the theme for Eastern’s 2019 Homecoming week season, “Game On.”

“We just want everyone to be there,” Philpott said.
