Three arrests have been made for alleged roles in a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon at 24 W. Buchanan Avenue, according to a press release from the Charleston Police Department.

Shannon M. Barnes, 18, and Alyssa A. Jenkins, 19, were questioned by CPD who concluded the two allegedly assisted a juvenile suspect in the shooting of Trevor Pinkstaff, 20, who was injured by a bullet wound.

CPD identified and obtained a warrant for the juvenile suspect who was arrested Tuesday by the Mattoon Police Department and was transferred to the custody of the Vermillion County Juvenile Dentention Center.

Pinkstaff told investigators he returned to his residence to find it being burglarized by an acquaintance and was shot after a struggle, according to a press release from CPD.

Mount Vernon, Mattoon, Eastern Illinois University Police Departments, the Coles County Crimestoppers, Sheriff and State’s Attorney’s Office assisted with the investigation.
