Members of Alpha Phi tug against Sigma Kappa Monday afternoon at the Campus Pond during the first round of Tugs. Alpa Phi won the round and will advance to the second round on Wednesday against Alpha Sigma Alpha.
Monday was more than a game of tug of war.
It was a competition that meant points for a sorority or fraternity, it was a challenge to avoid being dragged into the murky water that is the Campus Pond and it was a mission to see who was the top dog.
Monday was the first round of Tugs.
Alpha Phi, Sigma Sigma Sigma and Pi Kappa Alpha won the first round of Tugs over Sigma Kappa, Delta Delta Delta and Lambda Chi, respectively.
Tugs is an annual tournament and staple of Greek Week that spans across four days. There is a round on Monday, Wednesday and Friday followed by the final competition on Saturday after Pyramids, another Greek Week challenge.
