RSOs to offer student involvement opportunities
January 20, 2015
Various registered student organizations, from academic and Greek to service and political, will gather to engage students to get involved at Eastern during Pantherpalooza on Wednesday.
The Student Senate, along with co-sponsors the University Board and the University Bookstore, will present Pantherpalooza with this spring’s Winter Wonderfest theme.
Pantherpalooza will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.
Yazmin Rodriguez, the student vice president for student affairs, said about 90 RSOs will attend.
“We want to aim it towards transfer students and freshman this semester so they can get involved,” she said.
Rodriguez said all other students could also benefit from attending.
“Students (should) see what other RSOs are out there, and find connections elsewhere not just in (organizations) they are probably already involved in,” she said.
RSOs will not be able to register during the event because of over capacity.
Student Senate members will be handing out tickets to students for a raffle.
Prizes will be Eastern items provided by the Bookstore.
Student Senate members will be calling out the winning numbers during the event.
RSOs who signed up early for Pantherpalooza will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a pizza party provided by Student Senate members.
Only one RSO will win the pizza party.
