Important conference games scheduled for weekend slate

Central State (1-8) at Austin Peay (2-6) (2-4, OVC)

The Governors will play their final non-conference game of the season against Division-II Central State.

Central State is coming off of an 18 game losing streak, following a 36-0 win against Kentucky Wesleyan.

Austin Peay has lost four straight games, all against Ohio Valley Conference teams.

Last week’s loss to Eastern saw freshman quarterback Landon Curtis make his first start for the Governor’s in place of the injured Jake Ryan, who was out with a sprained MCL.

Central Methodist (5-3) at Southeast Missouri (2-6) (2-4, OVC)

The Redhawks will take on NAIA opponent Central Methodist in the two teams’ first ever meeting.

Central Methodist has won three straight games, averaging 37.7 points per game.

The Redhawks have a record of 7-1 in their last eight games at their home Houck Stadium.

Murray State (4-4) (2-3, OVC) at #15 Tennessee Tech (5-2) (4-1, OVC)

Tennessee Tech will host OVC opponent Murray State in the 77th all-time meeting between the two.

After beating Jacksonville State last week, the Golden Eagles put themselves in a three way tie for first place in the OVC with the Gamecocks and Eastern Kentucky.

The last time the two teams met, Murray State won 44-13.

Murray State has won its last two games, while Tennessee Tech has won its last five out of six games.

Eastern Kentucky (5-3) (4-1, OVC) at #18 Jacksonville State (5-3) (4-1, OVC)

Two of the three teams tied for first place in the OVC will meet in a critical conference match up.

The Colonels and Gamecocks are the two most winningest in the conference, since Jacksonville State joined in 2003.

The Gamecocks fell last week to Tennessee Tech, while Eastern Kentucky won on the road against Murray State.

The all-time series between the two teams is tied at 4-4.

Tennessee-Martin (5-3) (4-2, OVC) at Mississippi State (4-4)

The Skyhawks will travel to take on Southeastern Conference (SEC) opponent Mississippi State in a non-conference game.

Mississippi State will be the third SEC opponent for the Skyhawks in the last four seasons.

Tennessee-Martin is 0-12 against Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams.

It will be the first of a three game road stretch for the Skyhawks. Mississippi State won last week against Kentucky, who had previously beaten OVC opponent Jacksonville State.
