NRHH hosts week of recognition

This week the National Residence Hall Honorary is having its annual recognition week to recognize different groups of campus leaders.

Colleen Nelson, the NRHH communication coordinator, said she planned and organized the different days for Recognition Week with help from the NRHH recognition committee, the NRHH executive board and the NRHH advisers.

“Recognition week is done by NRHH so we can recognize the leaders around campus for all their hard work, time and effort put into everything,” Nelson said.

Nelson said on Monday they recognized the Building Service Workers in all of the residence halls by giving them doughnuts.

On Tuesday they recognized the associate resident directors, resident directors, complex directors and area director with cookies at their monthly meeting.

Nelson said they also honored the building secretaries with a flower pen and inspirational quote.

“Also recognized on Tuesday were the central housing staff, who are the individuals that work in the housing office in the (Martin Luther King Jr. University Union) with cookies in their mail room,” Nelson said.

Wednesday, night assistants, desk assistants and dining workers were among the three groups honored.

“We recognized night assistants with cookies and desk assistants with a coloring book and crayons, so if they have extra time at the desk they can color,” Nelson said. “We also recognized dining workers with candy.”

Today, NRHH plans to recognize Hall Council executive board members and resident assistants with mini cupcakes during their meetings.

“NRHH wanted to let these people know that their hard work is not going unnoticed and that we appreciate all their hard work,”Nelson said.
