Students voice opinions over upcoming election

Adam Chesi, a senior

business major

Are you registered to vote?

Chesi: Yes, in my hometown.

Have you been following the 2010 primary race for the Illinois state governor?

Chesi: No, not yet.

Do you feel this is an important election with the current issues within the state?

Chesi: I feel it is important that everyone who is in charge in this actually knows what they are doing.

Have you been following the local city primary elections where you are registered?

Chesi: Not specifically yet. I plan on looking into it before hand.

Do you feel the local city elections are important?

Chesi: In some ways, more than the federal and state elections.

Mike Vogel, sophomore recreation administration major

Are you registered to vote?

Vogel: Yes

Have you been following the 2010 Primary race for the Illinois State Governor?

Vogel: Not particularly.

Do you feel this is an important election with the current issues within the state?

Vogel: Yes, it’s important to know what the people in office are doing and to have a say in the matter.

Have you been following the local city primary elections where you are registered?

Vogel: Not, really. I have mainly only seen the Haiti crisis in the news lately.

Amanda Zook, a freshman foreign language major

Are you registered to vote?

Zook: No.

Have you been following the 2010 Primary race for the Illinois State Governor?

Zook: Not really, except for a little bit from the news.

Do you feel this is an important election with the current issues within the state?

Zook: Yes, it should make a difference even though things can’t get much worse.

Have you been following the local city primary elections where you are registered?

Zook: No.

Do you feel the local city elections are important?

Zook: Some things aren’t as important as the larger elections.
