Fall 2024 athletes to watch

Villa Pizza building succumbs to fire

Icicles hang off the outside of Villa Pizza, located in Mattoon. The building, which has been home to the pizza place for more than 30 years, caught fire Friday morning. (Audrey Sawyer / The Daily Eastern News)

Villa Pizza building succumbs to fire

The building that has housed Villa Pizza in Mattoon for more than three decades was lost on Friday during one of the most severe fires the town has seen in nearly 10 years.
