Sports Briefs: Rugby wins on the road

The Eastern rugby team defeated Southern Illinois Carbondale 103-0 Saturday in Carbondale. The Panthers (9-0) played SIU-C because of a cancellation of the match against Appalachian State.

The 103 points was the most by an Eastern team since 112 against Ball State last season.

Next week, Eastern will play either Michigan State or Purdue to finish the season. The date (either Saturday Nov. 7 or Sunday, Nov. 8) and time has yet to be determined.
