Reeder pleads not guilty

Bodie Reeder, 21, pled not guilty on Tuesday to charges of driving under the influence. ?Reeder requested a jury trial. ?Associate Judge Brien O’Brien set a status hearing for 9 a.m. April 29.

Reeder was arrested at 2:17 a.m. on Jan. 11 at Ninth Street and Woodlawn Drive on the charge of driving under the influence.

?Driving under the influence of alcohol is a Class A misdemeanor and is punishable by serving time in a county jail for less than a year. A fine of $2,500 or an amount specified in the offense, whichever is greater, can be levied.

Reeder started the final nine football games for the Panthers this season. He passed for 1,726 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season as a sophomore. The Ivesdale native led the Panthers to an 8-4 record, a second-place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference and a third straight trip to the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs this year.?

The charges against Reeder will not affect his scholarship from Eastern, and it will not affect his eligibility on the Eastern football team.
