Student stabbed on Sixth Street
An Eastern student was stabbed by another Eastern student early Friday morning on the lawn of a rental home on Sixth Street.
Matthew A. Bagnall, 18, of Elmwood Park, was arrested at approximately 12:05 a.m. Friday after police responded to a report of a fight.
The officers arrived at 766 Sixth St. The victim, Brandt L. Schisler, 18, of Lewistown, met them and reported he was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife.
An ambulance transported Schisler to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, where he was treated for his injuries.
Bagnall was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and causing great bodily harm to the victim.
Aggravated battery is a Class 3 felony and can be punished with fines up to $25,000 or imprisonment for 2 to 5 years.
Bagnall posted bond and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 17.
Both Schisler and Bagnall listed Carman Hall as their address.
