Scott Richey’s OVC Football Picks

Last Week’s Record: 5-0

Overall Record: 54-11

Eastern Illinois 35

Samford 21

-The Panthers almost assure an at-large bid into the FCS playoffs with a big win over Samford. The Bulldogs rely on quarterback Jefferson Adcock for their offensive production-he runs one in-but the rest of the team can’t get it done.

Eastern Kentucky 30

Tennessee Tech 17

-Even with the OVC championship clinched, the Colonels don’t let up. Tennessee Tech has no answer for the Eastern Kentucky offense. Quarterback Allan Holland picks apart a weak Golden Eagles secondary.

Jacksonville State 42

Southeast Missouri 14

-The Gamecocks explode on offense after a tough loss to Eastern Illinois last week. JSU quarterback Cedric Johnson throws for two touchdowns and runs for two more to hand Southeast Missouri its eighth straight loss.

Tennessee-Martin 33

Tennessee State 28

-The offense keeps coming for Tennessee-Martin. Cade Thompson gets the start for the Skyhawks and throws for three touchdowns. Despite a good performance by running back Javarris Williams, the Tigers won’t find the end zone enough for a victory.

Austin Peay 28

Murray State 21

-Murray State will get another 300-yard, multi-touchdown performance from quarterback Jeff Erhardt, but for the third straight game it won’t be enough. Austin Peay will ride running back Chris Fletcher to victory.
