Despite heavy rain on Monday, the Coleman Hall North staff parking lot and Greek Court lots four and five were resurfaced.

The Buzzard Hall staff lot was not resurfaced as planned because of the rain.

According to Lionel Sanders, construction project manager for Facilities Planning and Management, the resurfacing of the Buzzard lot will be rescheduled after the other scheduled lots are resurfaced.

If it is raining today or too much standing water is in the parking lots, the resurfacing will also have to be postponed, Sanders said.

Scheduled to be resurfaced for today is the Ninth Street east lot across from the Ives Art Studio Hall, the lot at Ninth Street and Hayes Avenue, and the Lantz Arena south lot.

University Police Department will close the lots early and reopen them if it is decided the lots cannot be resurfaced, Sanders said.

The McAfee Gym parking lot will continue to be closed for the entire week.

Also, closed for an extended time is a fenced-off area of the stadium lot.

The middle part of the lot will be fenced off until the entire lot is restriped on Thursday, said Lt. John Hatfill of the UPD.

Sanders said the parking lots are being resurfaced before winter sets in and asphalt plants close. The lots need to be resurfaced to prevent damage from winter.
