Women’s Golf Notebook
Eastern’s women’s golf team shot 17 strokes better as a team in the second round of the OVC Championship, but their second-round score of 328 still places them in seventh place.
Sophomore Carrie Riordan is in a six-way tie for sixth after shooting her second consecutive seven-over 79, and senior Chelsea Bach rebounded from an opening-round 90 to shoot a seven-over 79.
Samford freshman Katelyn Stainer holds on to first place with a two-over 74 and now leads by seven strokes. Stainer has birdied five holes in the first two rounds.
Rounding out Eastern’s scores are: Katie Imburgia (85), Amy Simons (85,) and Jaymie Voorhees (89,).
Jacksonville St. held on to first place as a team and has a two-stroke lead over Murray St.
