Swim teams earn deja vu victory
Eastern men’s and women’s teams swept Mid-Continent Conference opponent Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis for the second time this year. It was like deja vu for the Panthers.
Both teams were victorious, though they accomplished it in opposite ways. The women once again dominated IUPUI 194-99 like they had previously in the season taking first place finishes in 10 out of 16 events.
The men had a close meet, edging the Jaguars 151-147 and placing first in eight out 16 events.
Senior Bill Senese had an outstanding day. He finished first in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard Individual medley, 200-yard backstroke and was part of the relay team that placed first in the 200-yard medley race.
Senior Matt Latham also had a good day, finishing first in the 50 and 100-yard free races. Senior Marlise Davidson took first in the 50 and 100-yard free and was one of the swimmers to earn the first place victory in the 400-yard free relay.
