Students to imitate literary characters
Not to often does a student get the chance to see other students act like famous literary characters.
That chance, however, will be available for any student to see this coming Tuesday.
“Scare the Dickens out of you” is a literary challenge where English Club members dress up and imitate literary characters from works they have read while in college,” said Diedre Mapes, president of English Club.”
The “Scare the Dickens out of you” challenge also has one more component to it.
“The English Department will have the opportunity to guess who the character is,” Mapes said.
The challenge is set to take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Coleman Hall, Room 3691.
“English Club developed idea in a meeting because we wanted an opportunity to get to know the faculty better while having fun,” said Mapes. “This event also allows us the opportunity to turn the tables because the students have the chance to test the professors.”
Besides the English Club and the English Department, others students are more than welcomed to come and see the challenge.
“People should come because it will be fun to watch students act like literary characters and the English faculty trying to guess [who they are imitating],” Mapes said.
