Eastern continued its early-season slide as it dropped three games to Kansas State from Friday to Sunday.
The teams will play the final game of the series today at 1 p.m. in Manhattan, Kan.
In the first game on Friday, the Wildcats scored five runs in three innings off starter Chris Vaculik. The Panthers did score a season-high five runs in the 12-5 loss. Center fielder Bret Nommensen went 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
The Panthers didn’t fare any better in Saturday’s 12-2 loss as Kansas State scored 10 runs in four innings.
In the third game of the series, the Panthers dropped a 7-5 game.
Junior third baseman Ryan Campbell extended his hitting streak to 20 games with two hits.
